Melbourne boxing identity Stuart Duncan, a friend of Peden's who has been in regular contact with the fighter over the past week, declared: "He's focused and he's determined and he believes that he can stop this bloke."
Despite fighting in America, Poland, New Zealand and Vanuatu as a professional, Peden has always insisted he won't box in Australia until he brings home a world title.
Duncan revealed a number of prominent boxers in his stable were poised for big fights. He said the IBF's No.1-rated middleweight Sam Soliman was likely to fight former junior-middleweight world champion Julio Cesar Vasquez on a huge Panthers card on September 24.
Duncan said Soliman would then look to fight American Jermain Taylor or German Felix Sturm for the mandatory world title shot.
Duncan said his world ranked super-lightweight Lovemore Ndou would defend his IBF Pan Pacific title against Colombian Jose Montano at Homebush on August 15.
